Consistency is Key

I am the last person anyone should listen to about consistency, but I’m also the best. As someone who is admittedly very inconsistent in many things, there are some things where my patterns are unmatched.

As I have been working from home, I consistently get up within 5 minutes of 8:00 to go clock in. I consistently shower before I clock out for lunch. I consistently take 45 minute lunches to help build up vacation time (15 minutes a day adds up over a panoramic). I consistently leave work at 4:53 as the time clock registers 7 minute leads for every 15 minute block.

Work isn’t the only thing I’m consistent with. I consistently do my homework at the last possible minute. I consistently push myself to the limits of anxiety about school. I consistently neglect human contact when I need it the most. These aspects are the keys to things I can reverse my consistency about and make them keys to why my life is better.

Take inventory of what you are consistently doing that may be unhealthy for your mental space. Do you have a strong relationship with your inner bully? Do you reminisce on what went wrong when everything else went right? Find all of your consistency patterns, and let’s all make changes moving forward to have the most healthy ones.
